Description

The Uchiwa Quilted lounge chair by HAY, designed by Doshi Levien, is the softer, quilted version of the fan-inspired Uchiwa armchair. The quilted upholstery adds a tactile, padded surface and a more relaxed, domestic feel while preserving the generous, open shape drawn from the traditional Japanese hand fan.

Like the standard version, it has an oak base and a moulded foam interior, with the quilted treatment giving a softer expression suited to lounges, reception areas and considered living spaces. A footrest is available as an option, and the chair comes in different upholstery options and wood finishes.

Doshi Levien is a London-based studio founded in 2000 by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, internationally acclaimed for design that is both technically advanced and culturally resonant.
