Description

The Uchiwa lounge chair by HAY, designed by Doshi Levien, is a capacious armchair that takes its soft, open shape from the traditional Japanese hand fan. Generous and inviting, new and familiar at once, it offers an enveloping, comfortable sit well suited to lounges, reception areas and considered living spaces.

The chair has an oak base and a moulded foam interior with a smooth, taut expression, leaning on wooden uprights that frame the open form. The firmer standard version is designed for public spaces and contract use, and a footrest is available as an option. Available in different upholstery options and wood finishes.

Doshi Levien is a London-based studio founded in 2000 by Nipa Doshi and Jonathan Levien, internationally acclaimed for design that is both technically advanced and culturally resonant.
