Description

The AAL 93 lounge chair by HAY is the high-back, plywood-frame member of the About A Lounge series, where a high-strength moulded plywood and solid oak frame creates a slightly more angular, minimal expression that focuses the eye on the seat. A high back with curved armrests envelops the sitter in a spacious cocoon.

The shell is soft moulded polyurethane foam over an internal steel construction, fully upholstered in a wide choice of fabrics and leathers, set on a beech plywood and oak veneer base. An optional seat cushion mounts with Velcro. It is also offered with solid oak legs (AAL 92) or a swivel base (AAL 91), and pairs with the matching About A Lounge ottoman.

Designed by Danish designer Hee Welling, who founded his Copenhagen studio in 2003, the chair belongs to the About A Lounge series — a family of compact yet sculptural lounge chairs developed for both private and public settings.
