Description

The AAL 91 lounge chair by HAY is the high-back, swivel-base member of the About A Lounge series, generous in size and proportion with shaped armrests that envelop the sitter in a more open, spacious composition. The high back gives a more formal, cohesive expression, designed to work beautifully with the matching About an Ottoman.

The shell is soft moulded polyurethane foam with an internal steel construction, fully upholstered in a wide choice of fabrics and leathers. The four-star swivel base is cast aluminium in black or polished finishes, and the seat cushion is moulded polyurethane foam mounted with Velcro. The wide choice of cushions, bases and upholsteries makes it suitable for a range of public and private contexts.

Designed by Danish designer Hee Welling, who founded his Copenhagen studio in 2003, the chair belongs to the About A Lounge series — a family of compact yet sculptural lounge chairs developed for both private and public settings.
