Description

The AAL 82 Soft lounge chair by HAY is the fully upholstered, quilted-front version of the low-back About A Lounge chair on solid oak legs. The Soft treatment lends a padded, tactile quality to the sculpted shell while retaining the warm, natural character of the wooden legs.

The shell is soft moulded polyurethane foam over an internal steel construction, fully upholstered with a quilted front in a wide choice of fabrics and leathers. The solid oak legs are available in a lacquered finish, and an optional seat cushion mounts with Velcro. It is a softer, more enveloping take on the AAL 82, well suited to lounges, reception and hospitality interiors.

Designed by Danish designer Hee Welling, who founded his Copenhagen studio in 2003, the chair belongs to the About A Lounge series — a family of compact yet sculptural lounge chairs developed for both private and public settings.
